Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi and Transfer to Amboseli National Park
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you will be warmly welcomed by our professional safari representative. After a short briefing about your 10-day Kenya and Rwanda adventure, you will begin your journey to Amboseli National Park, one of Kenya’s most scenic and rewarding safari destinations.
Amboseli is famous for its spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain, which rises majestically across the border in Tanzania. The park is also known for its large herds of elephants, open plains, wetlands, and excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a relaxed drive to your lodge, arriving in time for check-in, dinner, and relaxation. Spend the evening settling into your safari lodge, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the African wilderness as you prepare for your first full day of game viewing.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Amboseli National Park
After an early breakfast, you will head out for a full-day game drive in Amboseli National Park. The morning hours offer some of the best wildlife sightings, with animals more active before the heat of the day. Amboseli is one of the best places in Africa to see elephants at close range, often moving gracefully across the plains with Mount Kilimanjaro in the background.
During your game drive, look out for lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, gazelles, hippos, and many species of birds. The park’s wetlands attract a wide range of wildlife, especially during the dry season, making it an excellent location for photography and relaxed safari viewing. You may enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park or return to the lodge for lunch before continuing with an afternoon game drive. As the sun begins to set, the landscape glows beautifully, creating perfect moments for photography. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Travel to Lake Nakuru National Park and Evening Game Drive
After breakfast, you will depart Amboseli and travel toward the Great Rift Valley region, heading to Lake Nakuru National Park. The drive offers beautiful views of Kenya’s countryside, local communities, farms, escarpments, and Rift Valley scenery.
Lake Nakuru National Park is one of Kenya’s most beautiful compact parks, famous for its lake, wooded grasslands, rocky viewpoints, and rich wildlife. The park is especially known as a sanctuary for both black and white rhinos, making it one of the best places in Kenya to spot these endangered animals. It is also home to lions, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, waterbucks, baboons, and many bird species.
Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge and later go for an evening game drive in the park. This is a great time to search for wildlife as animals become more active in the cooler hours of the day. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve and Afternoon Game Drive
After breakfast, you will leave Lake Nakuru and continue your safari journey to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. The drive takes you through the scenic Rift Valley and rural landscapes before arriving in one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations.
The Masai Mara is known for its wide open savannah, large numbers of predators, excellent Big Five sightings, and the annual wildebeest migration, which usually takes place between July and October. Even outside the migration season, the reserve offers outstanding wildlife viewing throughout the year.
Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge or tented camp and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, you will head out for your first Masai Mara game drive, searching for lions, elephants, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, hyenas, and possibly leopards. The golden plains of the Mara offer some of the most iconic safari scenery in Africa. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Full Day Game Drive in Masai Mara National Reserve
Today is dedicated to a full-day safari experience in the Masai Mara National Reserve. After an early breakfast, you will depart with your packed lunch and spend the day exploring different areas of the reserve in search of the wildlife of the savannah. The Masai Mara is one of Africa’s best places to see big cats, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards. It is also home to elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, topis, elands, gazelles, hyenas, jackals, hippos, crocodiles, and many bird species. Your guide will use their knowledge of the reserve to track wildlife and position you for the best viewing and photography opportunities.
You may visit the Mara River area, famous for dramatic migration crossings during the wildebeest migration season. Even when the migration is not taking place, the river is home to hippos, crocodiles, and beautiful landscapes. Enjoy your picnic lunch in the wilderness before continuing with your afternoon game drive. Later, return to your camp for dinner and relaxation.

Day 6: Another Full Day Game Drive in Masai Mara in Search of the Big Five
After breakfast, you will enjoy another full day exploring the magnificent Masai Mara National Reserve. This extra day gives you more time to search for the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino, as well as other wildlife that makes the Mara one of the greatest safari destinations in the world. Every day in the Masai Mara is different. You may witness lions hunting, elephants crossing the plains, cheetahs resting on termite mounds, giraffes feeding gracefully, or hyenas interacting around a kill. Your guide will focus on areas with recent wildlife activity and help you enjoy a deeper safari experience.
For travelers interested in culture, an optional visit to a Maasai village can be arranged. This cultural encounter gives you an opportunity to learn about Maasai traditions, dances, homesteads, dressing style, and their close relationship with cattle and nature. In the evening, return to your lodge or camp for dinner and your final night in the Masai Mara.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the nearby airstrip for your scheduled flight from the Masai Mara to Nairobi. This scenic flight gives you a final aerial view of Kenya’s beautiful landscapes before arriving in Nairobi. Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will connect to your international flight to Kigali, Rwanda. After landing at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by our Rwanda safari representative and transferred to your hotel for check-in and relaxation.
Kigali is one of Africa’s cleanest, safest, and most organized cities. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a quiet evening at your hotel or a short optional city experience. This day is mainly designed for smooth travel between Kenya and Rwanda as you prepare for the gorilla trekking part of your adventure.

Day 8: Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, you will enjoy a Kigali city tour, giving you an introduction to Rwanda’s history, culture, and modern development. The tour may include a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, local markets, craft shops, and key city landmarks. This experience offers meaningful insight into Rwanda’s past and its inspiring transformation.
After the city tour, you will begin your scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park in northern Rwanda. The journey takes you through rolling hills, beautiful countryside, local villages, and terraced farms. Rwanda is famously known as the “Land of a Thousand Hills,” and this drive clearly shows why. Upon arrival in the Volcanoes region, you will check in at your lodge and relax as you prepare for the next day’s unforgettable gorilla trekking experience. Day 9: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park and Cultural Experience
Today is one of the most memorable days of your entire East African adventure. After an early breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about mountain gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. You will be assigned a gorilla family and guided by experienced park rangers into the forest.
The trek can take a few hours depending on the location of the gorilla family, but the reward is truly unforgettable. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend a magical one hour observing them in their natural habitat. You may see them feeding, resting, grooming, playing, or moving through the forest. Watching these gentle giants at close range is one of Africa’s most powerful wildlife experiences. After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, you may enjoy a cultural experience, such as a visit to the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village / Gorilla Guardians Village, where you can learn about Rwandan traditions, music, dance, local healing practices, and community life. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 10: Golden Monkey Tracking or Relaxed Morning, Return to Kigali and Departure
After breakfast, you may choose to enjoy golden monkey tracking in Volcanoes National Park or have a relaxed morning at the lodge, depending on your flight schedule and personal preference. Golden monkey tracking is a wonderful optional primate experience. These playful and colorful monkeys live in the bamboo forests of Volcanoes National Park and are exciting to watch as they jump, feed, and move in groups. The experience is usually less demanding than gorilla trekking and offers excellent photography opportunities.
After the activity, you will return to the lodge, freshen up, and begin your drive back to Kigali. Depending on your departure flight time, you may have time for lunch, last-minute shopping, or a short stop at a craft market before being transferred to Kigali International Airport for your onward flight.
