Rwenzori Mountains National Park

The name says It all. This Rwenzori Mountains National Park is located in the ranges of Mountain Rwenzori also known as ‘Ruwenzori’ as labeled by Henry Stanley the explorer in 1888 which meant in local language ‘rain maker’, Bundibugyo, kasese district Uganda. This block Mountain is over 5,109m above sea level, its highest peak being Magheritta peak that can take over 12 days to reach by the greatest trekkers. The Rwenzori national park was gazetted in 1991 and was recognized as a world heritage site in 1994.
