Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You’ll be picked up from the airport (or hotel) and transferred to Entebbe Airport. From there, you’ll take an internal flight to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The flight will land at either Kihihi (for the north and eastern parts of Bwindi NP) or Kisoro Airstrip (for the southern part of the park). Upon landing, you’ll be transferred by road to your overnight lodge. You have the option to choose a morning or afternoon flight. The internal flight duration is approximately one to one and a half hour, depending on the routing of the day.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking Experience in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Early in the morning, you’ll have breakfast and prepare a packed lunch. After breakfast, you’ll head to the Park headquarters for registration and a briefing on the dos and don’ts during your gorilla tracking experience, which begins at 7:45 am. You’ll trek through the dense forest with your guides to locate the gorillas. This can take anywhere from half an hour to three-quarters of the day. The forest is steep and densely vegetated, but there are animal trails that allow access for tourists. Spending time with these beautiful yet endangered creatures is a unique and incredible experience.You’ll return to your lodge in the evening.

Day 3: Fly Back to Entebbe
After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Kihihi/Kisoro for your internal flight back to Entebbe International Airport. If you have a connecting flight, you can depart Uganda, or you may choose to stay extra days in Uganda to explore other regions of the country. This marks the end of your 3-day fly-in safari to see gorillas. This itinerary allows you to maximize your time in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and minimize long road transfers, making it an efficient and convenient option for those with limited time. It offers a unique opportunity to observe these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat while enjoying the comfort of well-chosen lodges.
