This 5 Days Gorilla Chimpanzee Trekking Safari is one of the awe-inspiring African safari which

Queen Elizabeth national park is one of the most beautiful savannah national parks in Africa, it
is also the second biggest and one of the Uganda’s most visited national parks. Queen Elizabeth
National Park boosts of beautiful unmatched crater lakes, the famous Kazinga channel, forested
Gorges and Savannah plains. It is also home to 95 mammal species including the 4 members of
the big 5 such as Lions, Leopards, Elephants and Buffaloes, however other species include
warthogs, Hippos, hyenas, Ugandan kobs, oribis, topis, bush bucks, waterbucks, giant forest
hogs, chimpanzees, Nile crocodiles among others and also various Bird species like grey
crowned cranes, Marital eagle, shoebill, African green pigeon, handsome francolin, Nubian
wood pecker, swamp flycatcher, grey crowned heron, black bee eater, African skimmer.

Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park is the best destination for mountain Gorilla
experience, its located in South Western Uganda in Kanugu district. It is known for having half
of the world’s remaining population of mountain gorillas. Bwindi Impenetrable forest national
park will enable you have an exclusive experience of mountain gorillas in all the sectors of the
park which are Buhoma, Nkuringo, Ruhija, and Rushaga. The park harbors 120 mammals such
as black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, Red tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, bush
pigs, forest elephants, buffaloes, duikers and also bird species like the African green broadbill,
Grauer’s swamp warbler, Turner’s Eremomela, Chapin’s flycatcher, handsome francolin,
Rwenzori turacco, purple sunbird, Red throated bee eater, black bee eater, and Shelley’s
crimson-wing and also butterfly species such as the African giant swallowtail and Cream-

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 1 of the 5-days Gorilla Chimpanzee Trekking Safari will start with a pick up from Entebbe
International Airport or your Hotel. You will be picked up from Entebbe International Airport or
your hotel in Kampala by our experienced driver guide from Magic African Safaris who
will brief you about the 5 Days Gorilla Chimpanzee Trekking Safari and then you will set off to
Queen Elizabeth National Park located in the Western region of Uganda, the park is
approximately 8 hours from Kampala including a lunch stopover. Upon arrival, you will sight the
beautiful landscape and various wildlife like warthogs, Ugandan kobs, bush bucks, waterbucks,
giant forest hogs, chimpanzees among others. Have dinner and an overnight.

Day 2: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Experiential Lion and Leopard Tracking –
Boat Cruise along Kazinga Channel
You will rise up early on Day 2 of the 5 Days Gorilla Chimpanzee Tracking Safari and have a hot
delicious breakfast and head out for the experiential Lion and Leopard tracking along the
Kasenyi plains. The Kasenyi sector is found in open ground which helps to attract big game,
while there, you will interface with the predators under the guidance of a ranger guide who will
drive around the park with radiation trackers. During the drive, you will have an opportunity to
spot lions, elephants, birds, antelopes, hyenas and many more. The park remains green all
throughout the year and because of this, it offers beautiful views of Uganda’s countryside.
After enjoying the scenic beauty and Wildlife, you will head back to the lodge for a
mouthwatering lunch, thereafter, you will head out for an ultimate afternoon boat cruise at
Kazinga channel. Kazinga Channel is one of the most impressive features in Queen Elizabeth
National Park, it is a narrow water stream joining Lake George to Lake Edward with over 32 km
of length and it is known for having the highest concentration of hippos and Nile crocodiles.
While on the cruise, you will view the herds of hippos, elephants, Nile crocodiles and also
various bird species like the martial eagle, shoebill, grey crowned crane, African green pigeon,
and handsome francolin among other bird species, you will then return back to your
accommodation for dinner and an overnight.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Day 3 of the 5 Days Gorilla Chimpanzee Trekking Safari will start with a heavy Breakfast and
then you will head to the park’s headquarters for briefing and then later you will proceed for
the trek in Kyambura Gorge or Kalinzu forest. During chimpanzee trekking you may encounter
other primates such as Blue monkeys, Olive baboons, Red tailed monkeys, Vervet monkeys
among others and also various mammals like Elephants, duikers, yellow-backed duiker,
buffaloes, bush pigs, and giant forest hogs among others. Once you meet the chimpanzees, you
will be allowed to spend 1 hour while watching them feed, communicate and also play on the
tree branches. Later you will return to your lodge for lunch. Later you will be transferred from
Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is home to the
endangered mountain gorillas and one of the oldest rainforests forest in Uganda. The park is
known for having almost half of the World’s population of Mountain Gorillas hence giving you a
thrilling experience. The park has a population of about 459 Mountain Gorillas with 21
Habituated families living in different sectors of the park like Nkuringo, Ruhija, Rushaga and
Buhoma, you will then check into your accommodation for dinner and over stay.

Day 4: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park – Gorilla Trekking and Batwa
Community Encounter
You will rise up early to have a hot breakfast and start day 4 of the 5 Days Gorilla Chimpanzee
Trekking Safari and then you will meet your driver guide for a transfer to the park’s information
center for briefing regarding the dos and don’ts to follow during gorilla trekking. Thereafter,
start your guided forest trek in search for the mountain gorillas which takes about 3 to 6 hours
depending on the movements and location of the Gorilla family you have been assigned. During
your walk, you may encounter other wildlife species besides Gorillas such as black and white
colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, bush pigs, forest elephants, bird species like African green
pigeon, African harrier hawk, Cinnamon-chested bee-eater, crowned hornbill, Giant kingfisher
etc. Butterflies like cream-banded swallowtail, African giant swallowtail, spalgis lemolea, pentila

Alba, graphium gudenusi, charaxes fournierae, lachanocnema vuattouxi, eresina bilinear,
geritola liana, papilio luecotaenia, and cigaritus homeyeri among others. Once you meet the
gorillas, you will have a maximum of 1 hour of watching them especially the playful juveniles
and other family members as they are carrying out their daily activities, keep your camera well
charged and on standby such that you do not miss any moment un captured during your gorilla
trekking. Later you will return to the park information center to pick your tracking certificate
and then you will return to your lodge to have lunch and refreshments.
Later in the afternoon you will visit the Batwa community where you will see the pygmies
proudly known as “the forest keepers” who used to leave in Mgahinga and Bwindi
Impenetrable forest before the it was gazetted as a national park and also a UNESCO World
Heritage Site, Here you will learn about their ancient ways of life and the struggles to adapt to
modern life outside the forest, how they feed among others. Later you will return back to your
accommodation for dinner and over stay.

Day 5: Transfer back to Entebbe International Airport or your Hotel

your Hotel. Enroute to your destination, you will have a lunch stopover in Igongo Cultural
Center or Ajip Motel and also another stopover at the equator line at Kayabwe for coffee. You

    Itinerary

    Day 1 Arrive in Zürich, Switzerland

    We’ll meet at 4 p.m. at our hotel in Luzern (Lucerne) for a “Welcome to Switzerland” meeting. Then we’ll take a meandering evening walk through Switzerland’s most charming lakeside town, and get acquainted with one another over dinner together. Sleep in Luzern (2 nights). No bus. Walking: light.

    Day 2Zürich–Biel/Bienne–Neuchâtel–Geneva

    Enjoy an orientation walk of Zurich’s OLD TOWN, Switzerland’s center of banking and commerce. Then, leave Zurich and start your Swiss adventure. You’ll quickly discover that Switzerland isn’t just home to the Alps, but also to some of the most beautiful lakes. First, stop at the foot of the Jura Mountains in the picturesque town of Biel, known as Bienne by French-speaking Swiss, famous for watch-making, and explore the historical center. Next, enjoy a scenic drive to lakeside Neuchâtel, dominated by the medieval cathedral and castle. Time to stroll along the lake promenade before continuing to stunning Geneva, the second-largest city in Switzerland, with its fantastic lakeside location and breathtaking panoramas of the Alps.

    Day 3Enchanting Engelberg

    Our morning drive takes us from Swiss lakes to Swiss Army. At the once-secret Swiss army bunker at Fortress Fürigen, we’ll see part of the massive defense system designed to keep Switzerland strong and neutral. Afterward, a short drive into the countryside brings us to the charming Alpine village of Engelberg, our picturesque home for the next two days. We’ll settle into our lodge then head out for an orientation walk. Our stroll through the village will end at the Engelberg Abbey, a Benedictine monastery with its own cheese-making operation. You’ll have free time to wander back before dinner together. Sleep in Engelberg (2 nights). Bus: 1 hr. Walking: light.

    Day 4Interlaken Area. Excursion to The Jungfrau Massif

    An unforgettable trip to the high Alpine wonderland of ice and snow is the true highlight of a visit to Switzerland. Globus Local Favorite At an amazing 11,332 feet, the JUNGFRAUJOCH is Europe’s highest railway station. Jungfrau’s 13,642-foot summit was first ascended in 1811 and in 1912 the rack railway was opened. There are lots of things to do here: enjoy the ALPINE SENSATION, THE PANORAMA 360° EXPERIENCE, and the ICE PALACE. Also receive your JUNGFRAU PASSPORT as a souvenir to take home with you. The round trip to the “Top of Europe” by MOUNTAIN TRAIN will take most of the day.

    Day 5Lake Geneva and Château de Chillon

    It’s market day in Lausanne! Enjoy browsing and packing a picnic lunch for our 11 a.m. boat cruise on Lake Geneva. A few miles down-shore we’ll dock at Château de Chillon, where we’ll have a guided tour of this delightfully medieval castle on the water. On our way back we’ll take time to peek into the vineyards surrounding Lutry before returning to Lausanne. Boat: 2 hrs. Bus: 1 hr. Walking: moderate.
